Jaime Monroy: Teen Comedian, Friar’s Club
“If I was going to park cars I was going to do it where it could be a stepping stone to my stand-up comedy career,” Jaime Monroy said. Back in 1978, parking cars at the Friar’s Club in Beverly Hills was a direct hit! Jaime got onstage and advice from many legends in comedy. It was here that Jaime was encouraged by Bob Hope, Lucille Ball and “Uncle Miltie” Milton Berle. Jaime then started hanging out at the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip, the Playboy Club and every open-mike night he could get on. |
