Jaime Monroy Olympic ProspectJaime Monroy was born Alejandro Xavier Delgado in Lincoln Heights, East Los Angeles, California. Being in the spotlight started early on in high school. Jaime became a West Coast Olympic prospect to represent the United States in track and field. He is listed in America's Names and Faces Library under Athletic Achievement".

At age 16, Jaime Monroy started his Hollywood career with a job handing out tickets for television show tapings in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Becoming a stand-up comedian was harder than just getting laughs, "You have to be 21 to get into the comedy clubs". Jaime, not one to give up, thought of a way..."I had a driver's license so I started parking cars at the Friar's Club in Beverly Hills. If I was going to park cars I was going to do it where it could be a stepping stone to my comedy career.' says Jaime.

Parking cars at the Friar's Club in Beverly Hills was a direct hit! Jaime got on stage and advice from many of the legends in comedy. It was here that Jaime was mentored by Bob Hope, Lucille Ball and "Uncle Miltie" Milton Berle. Jaime then started hanging out at the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip, the Playboy Club and every open-mike night he could get on.

Jaime MonroyUpon graduating high school, Jaime Monroy got his next break. On July 10th, he was hired at Golden West Broadcasting, KTLA Channel 5. Jaime became the youngest "page' ever hired on to any studio lot, which came with some teasing from his superiors and stage crews. He had a natural gift for public relations and promotions, advertising sales and program development. He also ran errands, for Johnny Grant (Honorary Mayor of Hollywood) and was handpicked to give VIP. 's studio tours by Studio Chief Gene Autry.

With his day job secure working at the studios, Jaime Monroy set his sights on making it on the stage. Monroy continued parking cars at the Friar's Club on weekends and in the wee hours of the night, Monroy answered phones and separated the mail for Screen Legend Mae West. West, a nocturnal diva, shared many Hollywood secrets to her enthusiastic student Then Jaime lands his first professional job as a warm-up comedian on Solid Gol
