"Working in production I was willing to do any
job just to see how it's done and learn from
those who were doing. I made copies, got people
food, held cue cards, wrote cue cards, re-wrote
cue cards, got audiences, supervised contestants,
worked in wardrobe, was a stand-in (and hated it),
ran errands for producers, for directors, for the stars, for the producer's wife, for the producer's
girlfriend ...and 75 productions later,
it was worth every minute of it!" |
"What does a producer do?
There is not one definition.
But, I look at it this way:
a producer is an organizer.
Some producers organize a show,
some producers organize talent
and some producers organize the
financing. I got to work with some
of Hollywood's greatest television
producers from Pierre Cossette,
Bob Banner and Dick Clark to
Witt-Thomas-Harris and game
show legend, Mark Goodson." |

"Producing television is ruled by advertising
and producing motion pictures is ruled by
box office reciepts. The sooner you
understand how the game is played, the sooner
you will successfully get your television show
on the air or motion picture distributed and
released." |
